Yin Yang Balance

Have you ever felt really drained of energy and tired after you walked past someone, or walked past a crowd of people, or after being in a crowded bus/train?  In the past month, I have only come to realize why that was so.  That question has been bugging me for quite a few years now and I only realized what the answer was just about a month ago.  Its the balancing of the Yin and Yang, or in layman's term the balancing exchange of energies during interaction.

Yin energy, contrary to what many would believe, is negative energy.  Well, not all of that is true.  It is a category of energy that includes negative/heavy/low vibrational energy, it is also the possession of having more Yin energy that makes one feel tired and sleepy, otherwise we would not need any sleep (and we all know that sleep is essential to survival).  Yin energy also includes the smooth flowing and soft energies such as feminine energy (no relation to Females).  Forms can also be considered Yin if they are more flowing/smooth/curvy, such as the female body.

Yang energy, on the other hand, is quite the opposite of what Yin energy is.  It is hard/energetic/strong/high vibrational.  A form is Yang when it has hard/sharp angle/s, such as a square or a triangle.  Which is also one of the reason why the inclusion of triangular objects in your home makes the area feel as if it is more energetic.

Therefore, for people who have a higher spiritual attainment, they will have more Yang energy when they are out and about.  Which is also one of the reasons why we feel so at ease and happy when we are amongst people who gives you good vibes (ie. they are on the same frequency as you and vibrate at the same frequency as you).  So when someone who has higher vibrational energy walks past or interact with something/someone/people of lower vibrational energy, an exchange of energy takes place to balance the energy in that area.  If this person has sufficient Yang energy to give, all will be in balance and everyone leaves the area happy.  If this person is overwhelmed by the influx of the Yin energy (ie. the person now has more Yin energy than Yang energy after the exchange has taken place), this individual will feel tired/drained and would feel like a good nap would do him/her a lot of good.

But fret NOT!!!  There is no cure for this, but much good can come out of this.  This exchange means that the individual of higher vibration should feel happy that the balancing has taken place (regardless of whether he/she is feeling drained/tired).  Because, he/she is feeding the masses their energy of light and love that they have stored up.  The next time this happens, make a wish inside your heart that may that energy that was taken be used to raise the vibrational frequency of whomever has gotten it.  Your energy will be replenished the next time you fall asleep and wake up, the Angels and unseen spirits will help recharge you, even Mother Earth Gaia herself will help recharge you!!

We are NOT alone !

Here are 3 pictures I took while on a trip into the highlands to experience nature. Notice the little specs of things in the picture ?  I can assure you they are NOT dust specs, or water droplets on the lens. At first I thought they were too (and was about to delete the pictures), but later on I realized what I was looking at. I checked my camera lens when I first saw them, and I can assure you they were clean. Those little things are devic energy (ie. presences of devas). Zoom into the pictures and take a closer look at those little things. You will find that each of them have much more definition than what a blurr spec of dust or water droplet will provide.

Do they not remind you of floating "seedlings" in the movie Avatar? Do a little googling on the web for the term "energy ball" and you will find some more pictures of what is shown here. Would this be enough proof that our eyes have limited perceptive powers, and that we are truly not as alone as we think we are? You decide for yourself! Enjoy the pictures.....

Food preparation tip....

I thought maybe it would be very appropriate to share an important food preparation tip for the forth coming festivities at this time of the year. I read about this tip from the Art of Dharma blog. They aren't the only one who had talked about this, I had heard about the same thing from several other sources in the past as well (one other source is from Reverend Jing Kung, and another source would be from a chef at a vegetarian restaurant).

What they are all saying is that when we prepare food for consumption, we pass on our energy into the food we are preparing. As the Art of Dharma blog puts it :-

"If a woman could see the sparks of light going forth from her fingertips when she is cooking, and the energy that goes into the food she handles, she would realize how much of herself she imbues into the meals that she prepares for her family and friends."

Basically, what this is saying is as we prepare the food, we bless/enchant the food with our energy. So, if you feel sad, upset, angry, or any gamut of negative emotions at all, that goes into the food that you prepare. And those who ingested the food also took in all that energy. That energy is like a form of slow acting "poison" to all of us. I don't think there is any need to explain what does poison do to our physical body. But I can offer an example that poisonous emotion such as hate can cause cancer (You can either choose to believe it, or not. There is no scientific proof to this claim, only theoretical proof. Negative emotions causes stress, stress causes the release of hormones into our body. Long term exposure to these hormones can wreck havoc with our immune system. That is a scientifically proven fact. It is also known that stress causes our bodies both inside and outside to age prematurely. Oxidation is a form of aging, and the health community has been harking over the taking of anti-oxidants to help slow or prevent the oxidation of any carcinogens or free radicals that are already in the body. And we know that carcinogens can trigger cancer given the right conditions, therefore prolonged exposure to negative emotions can possibly lead to cancer, or some other type of stress related illness.)

Conversely, if during preparation of the food, you were feeling happy, blessed, loved, or any form of positive and healthy emotion, you are essentially blessing the food with positive energy for the recipients of your dishes. Those who ingest the food will also feel better, not to mention it will also be tastier.

In short, dear readers, when you do prepare food for others or yourself, do it with a light heart. Do it with much love, respect, happiness, peace, and compassion, so that those who come to eat your food would feel it too and be touched by it.

3 Flavors of Charity (edited)

Charity is the act of giving performed with the intention of enlightening sentient beings, when they have observed the performance of such acts. At least for this author, I had not realized that only until recently. Therefore, when we perform charity, we are distributing what we do not need to others who need it more, in hopes that when others around us see the act they would understand the meaning behind it; and thus inspire them to follow suit. At the mere mention of charity, the thought that immediately comes to mind is the donation of money. However, there is more than just money we can donate to charity. Money just happens to be the most convenient and easily accessible. There are actually 3 different kinds of charity.

Monetary Charity
This is the most widely used and most popular form of charity. Everyone always have some money on them, whether its just small change or big dollar bills. It is also the most convenient because you could just give and move on to your next daily routine, or your next errand.

Charity of Time and Energy
This form of charity is less popular as it requires one to "sacrifice" their time and energy. Something most of us are finding short on in this modern society. An example of such a form is charity is Volunteerism. Like when one donates their time and energy into helping a charitable organization to help them in their daily responsibilities of performing their function. Such work may not mean direct involvement into what they do, but it could be just simply being present to help clean up their office, perform some light administrative duties, volunteering as a chauffeur, or even just being the errand boy/girl. Just helping someone else do something is also an example such a form of charity. Like helping someone who has fallen up, helping to babysit your neighbor's, or relative's children are also instances of this kind of charity.

Charity of Knowledge
This is where one shares knowledge and wisdom with others. When you teach someone how to do something, or perform a task, and asking for nothing in return, that is charity. Instances of this would be when a friend teaches you how to do your homework, or a colleague passes you tips on how to better perform a task.

However, all three forms of charity are practiced, when one donates money to help defray the costs of printing religious scriptures, or generally books/booklets/pamphlets/etc that help to enlighten the public so that they may gain wisdom (not referring to information pertaining to the materialistic domain/s, but more of information that will help enlighten one's soul, thus gaining profound wisdom and understanding). In donating money for the printing, one has fulfilled the Practice of Monetary Charity. In turn, it also means that you have also enabled the people involved to be able to go ahead and print the literature in question. That is the Practice of Charity of Time and Energy. Finally, when the literature has been disseminated to readers, people will be able to gain the wisdom contained in the literature. Thus, fulfilling the Practice of Charity of knowledge. The merits accrued from this act of charity is immeasurable.

Lastly, there is another form of charity I would like to mention - Vegetarianism. Many Buddhists believe that to be a true disciple of the religion, one would have to go vegan. That belief if questionable at best. The true meaning of vegetarianism has been lost through the passage of time because those people did not truly practice Buddhism. The Buddha teaches all to question what was being taught to understand the teachings better. When questioned about the practicality of his teachings, he goes so far as to tell doubters to try his teachings out first, then make a decision for themselves after. So, if those who claimed that one of the reasons for being a Vegetarian is because you are a Buddhist, you have the wrong idea. The reason for Buddhist some Buddhist being a vegetarian is because they are practicing the Charity of Time and Energy. From the Buddhists' perspective : "I give up eating meat such that sentient beings need not have to give up their life for my enjoyment." (The sentient beings here refer to all the animals on land, and all the animal life forms that live in the water, that have to give their life so that all humans can have food on their table.) The westerners have the right idea when they speak of becoming a vegan. Of course, not everyone gives up eating meat for religious reasons.

(Note : In Buddhist Vegetarianism, it is a widely practiced to not eat Onions, Garlic, or anything that belongs the same family of vegetables. The reason this came about is due to the fact that veges just as Onions and Garlic can stimulate the production of certain hormones. These hormones can cause one to have difficulty focusing while practicing meditation. Hence, the reason why Buddhist Monks do not eat them. And thus the reason for the wide spread practice in the lay follower community. Such veges are actually GOOD for our immune system. It helps arrest harmful bacteria inside us.)
